  • What about inclement weather?

The inherent risk of an April event is that weather in this area of the United States can be highly unpredictable. On average, temperatures and conditions are perfect for distance running; 30-50 degrees with little precipitation. The flip side is that it can be pushing 70 or even 80 degrees one day and in the teens and icy a few days later.  Weather forecasts are being monitored paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and extreme temperatures. The Race Director, Board of Directors, and representatives from the Willard Police Department, Willard Fire Department, and the Greene County Office of Emergency Management will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race.  Possible changes include: altering the start time for the race or in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the starting line of the race.

Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15 minute increments.  Rest assured that a little rain won’t deter us.  A little challenge just makes crossing the finish line that much more worth it!

Race personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to inclement weather. Participants must abandon the race if ordered to do so by the race personnel, medical staff, fire or police officers.

In the event of cancellation, please understand that refunds cannot be provided. This event is a fundraiser to benefit the Frisco Highline Trail of Ozarks Greenways.

  • Can my dog run with me?

Unfortunately, no.  Due to safety concerns on the trail and the rural nature of the course, we no longer allow dogs to run our event.

  • Can I have a pacer?

Pacers are not allowed for any events.

  • How can I help?

The Frisco Railroad Run wouldn’t be possible without the support of the many volunteers who help us do essential tasks—like staff aid stations- we’ll feed you and give you an awesome t-shirt!
